Using experience: 45 days Overall, I'm extremely pleased with my purchase. I've been able to add on software & hardware to make this ppc even more powerful and useful. I can sync up at work and at home, so I never forget those important meetings and to do items. I have everything at my finger tips. My husband teases me that I find my ppc more useful than him!! Less

When I bought my VX 6600, I was excited to have all the functionality of both a cell phone and a PDA in one unit. However, shortly after buying it, I had repeated problems with having to do complete hard resets for it to work. After falling from my belt to the floor while in the case and the screen was shattered and thanks to buying insurance, it was replaced. After a year and further problems, the replacement phone started to literally come apart and of course reset losing all information. I found myself rebooting it and redownloading all my information up to 3 times a day. I finally took it back to find that audiovox had finally stopped making it. HOwever under the insurance I had purchased with the phone, I had to take another one (number 3 in one year) that was in storage. I find the phone fickle, fragile, and at times entirely frustrating. OH, did I mention that you can't hear it when it rings due to the incredibly low volume capability. I miss calls constantly!! Sorry Audiovox, but I will probably avoid your products in the future if this is the acceptable level of quality you produce and sell. Less

Good phone

Ive only had this cell phone for a month but so far i have had no problems at all. The phone has amazing features and is fun to use. My only problem with the 6600 is that is too big but like others have mentioned, that is not a problem if you use a bluetoothe headset which i have considered buying

Durable, reliable, and not just for people on the go.

Late in 1998 I was in an accident which left me with a brain injury. The injury seriously affected my short term memory. In 1999 I bought my first PDA and my doctor told me it was probably the best investment So, after this, I generally took with me my PDA, my cell phone, and my CD player. I could read and write e-mails with my PDA but would have to wait until returning home before I was able to send them. My cell was a necessity but a little bulky. My CD player required me to pack both it and any CDs I wanted to listen too. The Audiovox 6600 doesn't have these problems. I can send and receive e-mails anyplace there's cellular services. The size is reasonable. I can load up my memory card with a ton of music to take with me. To top it off, this device is durable as hell. I've lost track of the number of PDAs I've had which have ceased to work shortly after the warranty expired or got broken by a short drop or other incident. I have dropped my 6600 a number of times and it still works without any problems. At this point in my life I have committed myself to starting my own business so I won't have to rely on a government disability pension. As such, I am finding more and more uses for this device every day. I would like to see a fax machine integrated into the 6600 or at least some cable I can wire into my laptop and use that to send faxes. Other than that, I have no complaints. If anyone knows a way to solve my fax problem, please let me know. Less

Pro: It's a PDA & phone. 'nuff said Con: Battery life is poor. Sound volume on speaker phone/ringer is very low. Using experience: 2 years Battery life is semi-fixable with after market batteries, although with bluetooth and EVDO cell service, battery will still need to be charged daily. You can get around this somewhat by letting the phone turn off after so long idle, but response time between first ring and bluetooth headset doesn't initialize until 3-4 ring, so may miss calls. Ringer volume is really low, but is fixable with downloaded rings. Speaker phone volume is also very low compared to other phones. There is no fix for this. Less

Good in its time, but a dinosaur now

Had the 6600 since it first came out through Verizon. Good except for the occasional reset. Can download DVDs to it and watch a full movie on flights before the battery dies (can also be recharged via the cradle connected to the PC during flights)! Just a bit too large and clunky to be really practical. Replaced it with a new Moto "X" phone.

Sure its a little large for a cellphone but with a bluetooth headset your fine. my phone does just fine on battery life and as for low volume, i had an audiovox phone b4 and its just the brand and a bluetooth headset or putting it on speakerphone works just fine for me. 1 word of advise is to purchase more stylus, because YOU WILL LOSE THEM... just a fact of life. overall i LOVE this phone and recommend it if you like new "geeky" toys.
