The "1-Minute" Review

Verdict

For those who do like the fit and design, they’re small, unassuming, have good sound, and are an excellent value for the price.

What's good

  • Good battery life
  • Comfortable
  • Adjustable cord

What's bad

  • No noise cancellation
  • Might not be a good fit for some

There’s a booming market right now for headphones you can use while you sleep. DubsLab has jumped in the fray with their Bedphones, offering a different take from the average bedtime headphones because they use ear pods instead of headbands. But does the design work, and are they worth buying?

Design & Materials

The Bedphones come in two different styles: wired and wireless. They’re over-the-ear earphones with thin, foam-covered speakers to help with comfort while sleeping. A rubber, size-adjustable band goes around the back of the head to help them stay in place even if you toss and turn a little while you sleep.

Comfort & Fit

Reviewers said the headphones might not be comfortable for some because of the strap that goes between them but that they were rather inobtrusive while sleeping thanks to their thin profile.

Sound

According to reviewers, there was a lack of bass until you laid your head down on them directly, but it didn’t seem to hinder sleep either. But they’re designed for resting, not a thumping party. If you’re looking for something powerful or punchy, you’re likely better looking elsewhere.

Wireless Performance

Reviewers had no issues with connectivity on the wireless model. However, the addition of a wired control pod keeps the headphones from being completely wireless.

Battery Life

Reviewers clocked the wireless version of these headphones somewhere around 13 hours -- plenty for the average night’s rest.

Noise Cancellation

These are not meant to be noise-cancelling headphones. Their design does little to passively block out external noise either. So if you sleep in noisy environments, you’ll either need to turn up the volume or look for a different pair of headphones.

The Takeaway

There’s an equal balance of good and bad with these headphones. On the one hand, the wireless version isn’t entirely wireless, and the fit might not please everyone. For those who do like the fit and design, they’re small, unassuming, have good sound, and are an excellent value for the price.

Smartify Life says, “DubsLabs Bedphone is the world smallest inline earphones that are not just easy to use but also comfortable.”

No Sleepless Nights states, “The Dubslabs Bedphones are comfortable headphones to use when sitting in bed or lying on your back. They conveniently work via Bluetooth, and the speaker quality is good enough to enjoy spoken word or soft music at night.”
