What the Critics Are Saying...

The biggest problem with Walmart’s credit cards is that they don’t give you any extra rewards for actually shopping at Walmart stores, which should be the main benefit of a store-branded card. The 3% rewards rate is available only at Walmart. com. Go to the physical store, and you get 1%. If you do...

Unless you predominantly shop at Walmart, you have options with more rewards and better terms. You only get 1% back at physical Walmart locations, which is on par with what most other cash back cards offer. The Walmart MasterCard isn’t going to be the best cashback card for many people, even avid Walmart and Sam’s Club customers. Best suited to online shoppers

Since the best rewards go to those who shop online at Walmart .com, both the store card and the Walmart Mastercard are best suited to online shoppers. If you’re getting the card for the sole purpose of earning 1% back on regular purchases and 2% cash-back on gas, you would be a lot better off taking a different path altogether.

WalletHub

A cheap way to improve credit score

from WalletHub

A Walmart Credit Card would make a fine addition to your wallet if you already pump your gas at Walmart stations, or if you’re looking for a low-cost means of improving upon fair credit. That’s because Walmart plastic doesn’t provide terms valuable enough to distinguish it from your average general-purpose credit card.
