Like the name suggests the ZTE Warp 4G offers a 4G LTE data link, an improvement over the 3G network of the ZTE Warp Sequent. Most reviewers were impressed with the overall build of this Android smartphone, especially when considering the low price point. Despite its plastic body, critics find the device to be quite durable although PCMag noticed some flex and creaks but added that it wasn't "flimsy." Most reviewers enjoyed handling the phone, finding the textured back easy to grip and the overall dimensions of the phone easy to handle.
Aside from a pleasing design, the Warp 4G offers a decent 4.5 inch, 720p LCD display that is protected with a scratch-resistant glass covering. While experts agree that the phone doesn't offer the same viewing angles and color saturation as phones like the Samsung Galaxy S3, CNET goes on to say that the display is bright and offers "pleasingly crisp details."
ZTE touts that the Warp 4G has the highest specs launched on Boost Mobile, but its actual specs are fairly average. It has a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 1GB of RAM which, as Androidized states, allows the device to handle most apps and games available though it has issues running graphically intensive games. Space on the phone is limited to 8GB of onboard storage, which is expandable up to 64GB thanks to a microSD slot.
A major strongpoint of this device is its battery life. When put through CNET Labs battery benchmark, the Warp 4G lasted 9 hours and 3 minutes. In addition to lasting a full work day, the battery is also removable, so users can easily swap out a dead battery for a new one.
The Warp 4G also touts an 8MP camera and LED flash. The camera's app has various settings, features, auto-focus and shooting modes. Despite the numerous options, most reviewers agree that the camera falls flat in anything but ideal lighting conditions. PCMag mentions that any indoor low light situations lead to a "fair amount of grain and color speckling."
Although there are no particular standout features of the Warp 4G, reviewers generally agree that the device is a good investment. Tech Hive goes on to say that "the Warp is a very good phone for anyone who wants an Android model that doesn't come tied to a carrier contract."
