Although shutterbugs should avoid this phone, it's still an attractive deal for bargain hunters

from Reviewed
Ultimately, the Grand X Max+ is not a long-term smartphone solution; it is a short-term compromise, and only fit for someone who wants a big screen, a long-lasting battery, and doesn't care about the camera. If that sounds like you, the Max+ might be a proper suitor. The relationship is destined to be complicated and short-lived, but at least you won't have paid a lot for the pleasure... Full review

Looks cheap, feels cheap

from Digital Trends
You get what you pay for, and with the ZTE Grand X Max+ you pay very little for a whole lot of hardware. We’re not sure what magic ZTE conjured to make a 6-inch smartphone with great battery life and a 13-megapixel camera for $220, but we remain impressed. Sure, the ZTE Max Plus can’t outpower the Samsung Galaxy Note 4, Google Nexus 6, or probably any other flagship phablet, but for $220 there’s nothing out there quite like it... Full review

Bright and vivid screen and good build quality at an affordable price

from Android Authority
For the price of only $200, ZTE was able to create a very formidable package. The design might not be too flashy, but it provides a great overall experience, and most importantly great battery life. The 6-inch screen size will make many consider the Grand X Max+ to be very outside the realm of comfortable, but if you’re looking for a large screen without paying a large price, then this is definitely a solid option worth considering... Fantastic, budget-friendly Android phablet

from PC Magazine
Insecure naming scheme aside, ZTE deserves praise for the Grand X Max+. It looks and feels like a premium device, and yet it costs an unbelievably low $199.99 on Cricket. Factor in the carrier's low service plan prices and great AT&T network coverage and you have one seriously good deal for big-screen phone fans. The Grand X Max+ earns our Editors' Choice endorsement for phablets on Cricket... Full review

Solid design & construction for a budget smartphone

from PhoneArena

After impressing us not too long ago with the ZTE ZMAX, a prepaid phone attached with a killer price point, the ZTE Grand X Max+ continues the momentum for the company that’s really making its presence felt in the US prepaid market. With a sticker price of $199.99 through prepaid carrier Cricket Wireless, the Grand X Max+ offers quite a deal of value for its price, performance, and specs. It’s certainly not like some of the premium offerings we see overseas from the company, but in the budget smartphone space, the Grand X Max+ is a big phone with big dreams – and it’... Full review

An affordable phablet with a big and bright display

from Laptop Magazine

If you've been yearning for an extra-large Android phone but are on a tight budget, the $199 ZTE Grand X Max+ is a solid buy. The phablet's 6-inch display produces bright and beautiful images (albeit at a relatively low 720p resolution), and its 9-hour-plus battery life ensures that you can take this device out all night with confidence.

However, the Max+ is still a budget device, and you'll have to live with its inconsistent camera and weak speakers in exchange for the welcoming price. You can get better audio, a better camera and even stronger battery life by spending an extra... Full review

The best budget phablet you can buy

from Cnet

The ZTE Grand X Max+ has its faults. Its call quality could be clearer, and its wide, slick construction makes it difficult to hold. In addition, compared to high-end devices like the Nexus 6, Galaxy Note 4 and iPhone 6 Plus, its processor is a bit sluggish.

But as far as budget phablets go, the $200 Max+ stands out as one of the better values we've seen. For example, the comparable 5.7-inch G Vista, which has the same processor and 720p display, costs $350 off-contract from AT&T. And while Windows Phone enthusiasts will dig Cricket's other 6-inch handset, the Lumia 1320, the... Full review

Phone Scoop

A big, stylish, and sensible smartphone

from Phone Scoop

ZTE did a fine job with the Grand X Max+. It owns a great spot in Cricket's roster of handsets and should do well for the prepaid carrier.

The hardware is about the best I've seen from ZTE. The glass sandwich design is sleek and appealing. The materials are quite good and I was pleased with the quality of the massive screen. Sound quality was above average and so was battery life. The phone handles the basics with ease.

ZTE has taken a no-frills approach with the software, and that's a good thing. The phone is preloaded with only a small, useful selection of apps. The... Full review

I've had trouble with owning mine. I loved my phone. it's the first phone I've ever owned and I bought it myself but it started glitching really bad not even two months into owning it. I sent it into the manufacturer and they sent me back a new phone. I just got it today. I turned it on for the first time and guess what? the exact same thing is happening to this second phone that was happening to my first one and I am not happy about it. I'm actually pretty mad because I know so many people who have this phone and theirs is working great. So why is it that my first phone and now this new one I just got today is all messed up and unresponsive and laggy? Less

Best $200 i have ever spent.
