The Oppo Reno impresses with a true bezel-less display sans a notch for what Oppo calls a pivot-hinge design. Its curvy and smooth finish makes it a joy to carry around and even though its specifications are arguably mid-range, performance is well up there both for day to day usage and gaming - alth...

The differences in hardware aren't minor and the vanilla Reno comes with the mid-tier Snapdragon 710 instead of the 10x zoom's 855. There's also no periscope telephoto camera on its back and the ultra wide module didn't make the cut either. The main cam does use the same 48MP Sony sensor as the flag...

If you’re here for the camera then the Oppo Reno isn’t too exciting beyond that mega megapixel count. But as a cheaper way to get a full-screen phone with that wacky pop-up, it’s easy to see why the Reno might appeal. The design is slick and the specs are solid - if not top-of-the-line - and if Oppo...

There's a lot to love about Oppo's Reno series of phones - the standard Reno is a well-designed mid-range phone that and brings a touch of flagship design and offers something a little different with the shark fin pop-up.

There's also no periscope telephoto camera on its back and the ultra wide module didn't make the cut either. The main cam does use the same 48MP Sony sensor as the flagship, but the lens isn't stabilized here. Fret not, however - the super-cool motorized shark fin selfie mechanism has been kept. One thing that's actually better on the midranger is the presence of a headphone jack.

But as a cheaper way to get a full-screen phone with that wacky pop-up, it’s easy to see why the Reno might appeal. The design is slick and the specs are solid - if not top-of-the-line - and if Oppo can keep the price around £500 for the UK release then this could be a contender as long as you're not too worried about your phone packing the latest processor.
