Pro: durable, easy to use Con: hinge is slightly loose, finish will eventually chip off Using experience: 3 years I'm on the water a lot and I needed a phone that could take some punishment. (went through 4 razors in 2 years) A friend recommended this phone and boy has it worked out. It has been wet countless times, dropped almost daily and it still works fine. Battery life is definately on the weak side, and after @ 3years the matte finish is starting to chip off. overall solid phone Less

I need a phone to talk to people, not for looks. Con: It flips? Using experience: 18 months I had a Nokia and I was able to receive a signal almost anywhere, even when other people could not. Not true with this phone. I have had the phone for 18 months and I cannot wait for my contract to end. Less

When you turn it off, it makes a loud ring, which is the *last* thing you would want when turning it off. There is no way in any of the menus to disable it. (This does not happen if you already have it on silent.) The control for its volume is on the side, so that the volume will likely be changed from having it in your pocket. Often when it is set to ring, it will not. I'm not sure why. It has hard-wired into it several phone numbers (such as customer service) that *will* come first in your Contacts list; this cannot be disabled. (You can put all your contacts in the General category and select that and only see those -- until you power down, and then you're back to seeing those built-in numbers again.) You can only put so many numbers in a category; this cannot be changed. It's a small number, too, so the ability to create your own categories is essentially useless. The timer can be set for 5 minutes, 10, 30, 1 hour, or 3 hours (possibly more). You can't set it to an interval of your choosing. Less

Just a cell phone

from Yahoo
Pro: Simple to use Con: No features This is a very basic cell phone. If all you want is to be able to make and recive calls, this is the phone for you. If you want ease of finding contacts or long battery life, look for a different phone.

I replaced my phone because the other went through the washing machine, which BTW is bad news. However, I liked it so well for the reasons above the i decided to go to Ebay and get another. SAVED ALOT!! And, because the W315 came free from Verizon to begin with, and many people upgraded to something with more whistles and bells, there are plenty on the market keeping the replacement price WELL below what the cell phone company wants to charge for a new one. Highly recommended. Less

This really turned out to be a great deal. The phone won't go out of style any time soon. Sure, it might not have a camera or bluetooth, but those are obviously not essential features to a cell phone. The Motorola W315 has excellent volume, a color screen, good speakerphone, and, most importantly (especially with most wireless companies nearly forcing you to keep the same phone for a 2-year duration), it's sturdy. If I had to change one thing about this phone, it would be the "on-screen" speed. For instance, going from menu to menu always seems to lag a bit, but it's really not a huge deal. I love the time display that never goes away, and the battery life is great, too. You won't go wrong purchasing a new or mint condition Motorola W315. Less

Love the signal strength. Live in rural area where there are not enough cell towers nearby. Price was very reasonable, I only needed a replacement cell phone.

Motorola W315 - Good for the Money

from eBay
I bought this phone to replace my phone that I lost while outdoors. The phone works great and holds a good charge. So far it has been sturdy and very user friendly. My only dislike is that the speaker phone is a bit weak and I still have to hold the phone up to my ear to hear it clearly. Considering what I paid ($25) it is a great deal!
