What the Critics Are Saying...

Tom's Guide

We like the dedicated ultrawide video camera and how the phone's design evokes that of pricier handsets. We also like the specs, which look to be in line with other midrange offerings. Yet Motorola distancing itself from Android One could be detrimental to its users, and we’re interested in seeing h...

In the right lighting condition, the device offers some decent results. It offers an image with fine details and clarity that you don’t always get in a budget phone. The front camera does a good job as the selfies are detailed and crisp.

Android Authority

Motorola's experimental budget phone doesn’t entirely stick the landing, but if you want a cheap handset with smooth performance, clean software, and a quirky, GoPro-like video camera, the Motorola One Action is well worth a look.

The Motorola One Action is £220. For that cash, you’re getting a good triple camera setup, but not top-tier. You’re getting a 6.3-inch 21:9 display, but not AMOLED. You get a fingerprint scanner, Type-C USB, Android One, as well as the elusive 3.5mm audio jack. All of this adds up to a compelling pa...

We like the dedicated ultrawide video camera and how the phone's design evokes that of pricier handsets. We also like the specs, which look to be in line with other midrange offerings. Yet Motorola distancing itself from Android One could be detrimental to its users, and we’re interested in seeing how the Action Camera plays with third-party Android camera apps. At $349, the Motorola One Action is hitting that sweet spot among budget phones right now. If you're looking to save big on your next handset, it should be on your radar.

At first glance, the Motorola One Action looks quite impressive, what with its good hardware, modern design and its innovative action camera. However, the so-called action cam seems a bit half-baked, because the smartphone is not water-proof. The video stabilization of the action camera works well, which means that anyone who would like to shoot video while biking will find the Motorola smartphone quite compelling.

Aims to replace the action camera

There's a lot to like about the One Action, with Motorola once again offering a lot of phone for not much money. However, it's a shame that the phone doesn't quite deliver on its headline feature of being a great action camera.

Budget doesn't get better than this

The Motorola One Action is one of the best budget smartphones money can buy. It has all the drive your average Joe will ever need, and more than enough built-in storage to match, a camera that won't disappoint, a screen that's simply fantastic, and it'll last a full working day.

My freedom Mobile phone is useless

I bought in Victoria at store in the Bay Centre they guy whom help me was very nice and all but I am not happy with the service they take money out of your bank account each month for payment.  I would prefer a monthly paper bill sent in the mail.
