LG has always had a knack for building sexy, solid cell phones that are as capable as they are attractive. The LG Fathom is no exception. Packed with nice lines and top tier features, this is a phone to consider if you want to step up to a touchscreen smartphone.
Let’s start with the good news. Just kidding; it’s all good news. The LG Fathom (VS750) is a global-capable CDMA/GSM smartphone. It comes with a SIM card and is able to switch from CDMA to GSM depending on where you happen to be traveling.
The LG Fathom runs on Windows Mobile 6.5 Pro, Internet Explorer Mobile 6.0, offers a large, 3.2 inch 800 x 480 pixel resolution display, resistive touchscreen, WIFI, a 3.2MP camera with video record, 2.1 Stereo Bluetooth and a 3.5mm headset jack so you can use your favorite headphones.
Onboard memory includes 512MB Flash and 256MB of RAM, and offers expandable memory via microSDHC cards up to 16GB.
The LG Fathom includes a full slide-out QWERTY keyboard, while keeping the overall dimensions at only 4.53 x 2.20 x 0.65 inches. That means large display, thin profile, which is always a good combination.
The touchscreen smartphone category is spilling over with options, so it really comes down to personal preference. Test driving a device like this is always recommended, in order to provide a sense of weight and comfort.

- PhoneArena Team, PhoneArenaYou’ve heard of the saying “timing is everything”, and in the case of the LG Fathom VS750, timing is against it. Windows Mobile smartphones are no longer the only game in town, as we now have Android and webOS. Furthermore, Windows Phone 7 devices are on the horizon, so die-hard...
