LG's biggest and most beautiful smartphone

from TechSpot

There have been a lot of ‘almost great’ smartphone releases in 2017, and the LG V30 is another such example. There’s a lot of great, if not excellent things about this phone, but at the same time there are a couple of issues that, in the face of strong competition, are hard to ignore.

Gadget Review

Most well-rounded smartphone to date

from Gadget Review

The LG V30 is a feature-packed smartphone. It sports all the luxuries we’ve come to expect in a top-end flagship these days, like waterproofing, wireless charging, and small bezels, but takes a couple extra steps with a brilliant wide-angle camera and HiFi audio. It’d be a winner if its P-OLED screen and user interface could keep up with the finest.

Good hardware design marred by bad camera, software

from Ars Technica

LG's strategy of a "no nonsense" phone seems really appealing. I like the general design of the V30 hardware more than the Galaxy S8, but Samsung only really messed up the fingerprint reader this year, while LG is shipping a bad display and a bad camera.

Android Police

Proof that LG can build a grown-up phone, mostly

from Android Police

The V30 is a largely competent high-end smartphone, and probably the best phone LG's ever built. Like the Pixel 2 XL, its OLED display is the clearest (or rather, muddiest) weakness. Unlike the Google phone, though, it doesn't have class-leading [and bloat-free] software, three years of being guaranteed the latest version of Android, or a camera with near-magical performance.

Cnet

A fantastic phone that nearly does it all

from Cnet

The LG V30 is a rock-solid alternative to Samsung’s Galaxy S8 Plus and the Google Pixel 2 XL. If it fits your hands and your photographic needs, you won't be disappointed.

The Gadgeteer

Looks nice, feels solid, smooth performance

from The Gadgeteer

The V30 is a really nice phone and I’ll be sad to send it back to Verizon because it has wireless charging and a microSD card slot, which I like. It also has the volume buttons on the left side of the phone instead of the right side, which I prefer.

Wired

Quietly brilliant

from Wired

There’s no big sparkly reason to buy a LG V30 over any other phone, and its $800+ price tag doesn’t win it any points. But you won’t regret buying it. The V30 may not stand out on a store shelf, but given the choice between this and the Galaxy S8, I’d strongly consider putting my money down on the V30.

Pocket-lint

A flagship that's not just for creatives

from Pocket-lint

With big phones increasing in popularity, the LG V30 lands in a space that's more competitive than ever before. The overall experience of the LG V30 is a positive one, though. At its core the V30 is a phone with heaps of power and good battery life - plus fast charging options - and a camera that, while not the best, offers creative options you cannot achieve from most other devices.

Chip Chick

Powerful hardware and an abundance of features

from Chip Chick

The LG V30 is everything you’d expect from a premium Android phone, but at such a high price, it’s really best for those if you who just want the best phone to use with a pair of headphones, regardless of cost. But, the camera is super fun to use, even if it is a little limited in some conditions.

This is LG’s best phone yet, and while it may resemble a lot of other devices on the market, it really is quite an enjoyable smartphone experience that you just can’t deny.
