My doro 7050 has stopped working. It's my only phone & I can't call consumer cellular 4 help

I have been a consumer cellular customer for over ten years and have had a doro 7050 phone for about 2 weeks and it works OK but not as simple to operate or as trouble-free as my 10 year old Doro flip phone.

But today the phone beeped and I got a missed call message and I didn't recognize the number so I didn't call it back.

Then I tried making another call and the numbers that I was dialing would not appear on the screen and did not make a sound.

Then I closed the phone and opened it again and tried pressing the OK to bring up my address book to try to dial a number automatically and pressing the OK button did nothing. and pressing any other buttons wouldn't do anything.

What is wrong with my phone? It's my only phone and I can't call your 888 number for help. I just charged the phone this morning and I'm getting the same signal as I always get at my current location.

Glad the fix was just that simple! If the issue happens again, maybe just do the same thing. As for the old phone, which model was it? Maybe there are still batteries for it sold somewhere online.

My Doro phone is my only phone and therefore it was not possible to call consumer cellular at at 888-345-5509 during their business hours.

Dialing a phone number and pushing the green button did not work.  The entire keypad was basically dead. What I had to do was to drive to my nephew's house where he could call consumer cellular on his phone and wait 45 minutes to talk to a tech. The consumer Cellular chat line was also not operational at this time and it was only by chance that my nephew was home to help me in the middle of the day. Otherwise he would only have been available after consumer cellular business hours.

When we finally reached a tech on his phone, we were instructed to remove the battery and replace it and then power up the phone. This worked to solve the problem but the tech could not tell us what caused the problem in the first place.

I do not trust this phone to be trouble free and it's difficult to get help with it.

I had a Doro phone that I got ten years ago and it was simple to operate and I never had a problem with it. But the battery was no longer taking a charge that would last for more than 24 hours. I wish I could have just got a new battery for it, but because it was 10 years old I thought I should just get a new phone and didn't even know if batteries were still available for the old phone.

Hi ronyo. Instead of pressing ok button to start a call, press the green phone icon. So let's say you want to call someone not in your contacts/address book, dial the number then press the green phone button. If it's in the contacts/address book, look for the person's name, make sure it's highlighted, then press the green phone button.
