The Sony Ericsson W350a appears to have fallen short in this particular entry-level version of its Walkman line.
Unlike its more expensive and thoughtful counterparts, the W350a delivers on music, but at the expense of awkward design, weak speaker and sub-par call quality.
On the upside, the W350a has a wonderful 1.8 inch 262K display that shows colors beautifully, has an intuitive interface and allows you to choose from a variety of menu styles. The W350a also has stereo Bluetooth, USB mass storage and PC syncing.
Other features include 1,000 contact address book, voice memo recorder, alarm clock and speakerphone.
There is a plastic flap that folds over the keypad which, when closed, offers a set of dedicated Walkman control keys. The overall effect is that of a combination flip/candybar phone. While the idea is sound the thin plastic just doesn’t give the feel of durability.
As a Walkman the phone does a good job, but the overall package falls short when compared to other excellent Sony Ericsson Walkman choices.
