- Kat Orphanides, Expert ReviewsThe Boombox sounds okay for a portable speaker, but costs more than it should.
- What Hi-Fi team, What Hi-FiIt could be a little clearer in the treble, but there’s impressive scale and a decent soundstage.

With two speakers and two woofers and four passive radiators, the UE Boombox is one of the larger devices in this list. Fortunately, the design of the speaker makes it one of the most portable as well. All of those speakers combine to provide a full, crisp and expansive sound stage from a single Bluetooth device.
A rugged aluminum handle, rubberized protective panels and stainless steel grill provide plenty of protection from the bumps and scrapes of life on the road. Support for up to three simultaneous connections make it easy to stream audio from multiple devices or let your friends pick the next track as well while the 50-foot connection range lets you enjoy life without having to worry about being within range of your speaker.
One notable concern about this speaker is battery life. The rechargeable cell offers roughly 6 hours on a single charge. While this is enough for most outings or events, it certainly falls short of many of the other choices on this list. Fortunately, the included AC adapter makes it easy to plug in and charge while in use should you plan on an extended jam session.
