What the Critics Are Saying...

Pocket-lint

This is great phone in many areas, offering good build, a great camera, excellent speakers and a punchy display. However, the price is high and the software could be better, so it's one to watch and wait for a deal.

- Chris Hall, Pocket-lint
XDA Developers

Xiaomi has incredible audio and fast charging, a pretty good but not breathtaking display, and a not-bad camera. Comparing device to device, it is highly competitive with most other phones at the €999 price. The experience of using this phone is absolutely fantastic.

- Max Weinbach, XDA Developers
Tom's Guide

The Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 5G is one of the best Android phones you can buy and a compelling alternative to the Galaxy S20 and S20 Plus with a battery that lasts much longer. However, its limited availability and incompatibility with all U.S. networks make it a risky import for some.

- Adam Ismail, Tom's Guide
Notebookcheck

Without the need to root, the GCam port offers a simple and very interesting camera alternative for the Mi 10 Pro.

- Marcus Herbrich, Notebookcheck
Cnet

It's stuffed with pretty much everything you'd expect from a premium 5G phone, including a Snapdragon 865 chipset, a 90Hz refresh-rate display, a 4,500-mAh battery and even a 108-megapixel rear camera. But it has its shortcomings. The most obvious one is that the Mi 10 series lacks an IP rating for...

An on-trend phone, but not always in a good way

The Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro frustrates me. Everything I want is there, with Xiaomi wisely adopting key 2020 trends, from the 90Hz refresh rate to the versatile camera. But the software isn’t as good as it should be, especially for the price. Finally, the inclusion of 5G is (at the moment) a nod toward the future rather than something most can take advantage of today. Taken in isolation, most of these are only minor problems, but pair them with a $1,000-plus price and the availability of better devices and things get dicier. It’s good, but not quite good enough to command this price.

A worthy competitor to the other major players in the Android space

It relies on its 108MP camera to grab people’s attention, but the massive sensor doesn’t bring the massive gains in image quality people might expect. The hardware package: display, speakers, chipset, battery, is excellent. Xiaomi hasn’t cut any corners with this model. But the same can’t be said for the software. The camera app and MIUI still need work, perhaps even an overhaul, before they can rival the best in the industry. While the Mi 10 Pro checks pretty much every box on the premium smartphone list, the limited availability and relatively high price for the brand make it a hard pick.

A fully-fledged flagship at a premium price

The Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro 5G has only two glaring omissions - the proper water resistance and the QHD resolution. Other than that - it offers a complete flagship package in all departments and excels in everything it does. The Mi 10 Pro is worth the price and it gets our recommendation if you are after a top-tier phone.
