Don't be fooled by the Galaxy in its name, the Samsung Galaxy Gold is a far cry from the Samsung's flagship phone though it does have many of the same features as the Galaxy S4 such as the S Health and Easy Mode to appeal to the older smartphone users.
Despite being a smartphone, the Gold clamshell design hearkens back to popular phones back in the 2000s with one major difference. Instead of one screen, it features two 3.7-inch SuperAMOLED displays – one on the outside and one on the inside. Both screens have a resolution of 480 x 800, which isn't HD but does offer a respectable 252ppi pixel density. Although it has touch screen capabilities, it also comes with a traditional dial pad and call buttons.
Internal hardware includes a dual-core 1.7GHz processor, 1.5GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. Due to its limited release, there are no expert reviews on the Gold. Customer did notice some delay during day-to-day usage and were also disappointed with the battery life. Many were only able to get around a day of light usage with others reporting less. Besides this, the phone also comes with an 8MP rear camera and a microSD slot expandable to 32GB.
Overall, many customers were disappointed with the Galaxy Gold as its hardware and features did not line up with its high cost. One customer states, "I wasted my money in [sic] this mobile."
