The Samsung Galaxy A80 resolves the challenge of asymmetrical front and rear camera quality with slick engineering. While it does not come cheap, it is indubitably stylish and, above all, lets you take some darned good selfies.

The Galaxy A80 is Samsung's most premium offering in the Galaxy A series this year, touting new and unique features like a New Infinity display and rotating triple camera setup. But at Rs 47,990, the Galaxy A80 struggles to stand tall among the competition.

The New Infinity design idea has a huge potential, though, and if Samsung manages to equip its subsequent iterations with a better camera in a more compact footprint, that would constitute a killer handset.

A rather fine phone that's let down by its high price

from HardwareZone

To be fair the Galaxy A80 counters with a gorgeous display, high build quality, decent all-round performance, amazing battery life, and a polished user interface. Compared to its immediate competition, it feels like a more polished and well-thought-out product, even if there are some compromises and it is missing some features.

A good option for Samsung fans who want a full display

from AndroidPIT

I can't really work out who this phone is for. Someone who wants a big, beautiful display and a funky camera, but doesn't care about power or biometric unlocking methods, or long-term durability. Are there enough of those about (willing to pay this much) to make this a success? Probably not.

A bit too expensive for what it offers

For all the wow factor the Galaxy A80 undeniably possesses thanks to its unique camera and bezelless display, it's a really tough sell once reason gets in the way. At its launch price it's placed against proper flagships which come with benefits like superior performance, extra camera, better battery life - some are even more affordable than the A80. It's not a phone you buy, not at full retail price, or at least not based on rationality.

Samsung's first pop-up camera, full display smartphone

from HardwareZone

I really like the massive full-screen, notchless display of the A80 and the pop-up camera mechanism that enables it. I also like that the rotating camera lets you have a better quality front camera than you would normally find on an upper mid-range phone. However, that mechanism comes with quite a few compromises.
