7.5/10
Informr score
The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016) currently has an Informr score of 7.5 out of 10. This score is based on our evaluation of 8 sources including reviews from users and the web's most trusted critics.

As the most expensive device in Samsung’s 2016 A-Series lineup, you might expect some big differences. In reality, the A7 (2016) is more like an enlarged A5 (2016) with a couple extra features.

While the screen is larger--at 5.5 inches--it’s still the same 1080p resolution you’ll find in the A5. This means that technically, you’re getting a lower pixel density on the more expensive handset. Despite this, reviewers did not mention any noticeable differences in appearance.

The processor is slightly faster--a 1.6Ghz Octa-core Exynos--and there’s 3GB of RAM instead of the 2GB found in the A5. While reviews indicate that the RAM helps slightly with multitasking, the performance is largely unchanged from the A5.

If you travel often or want to consolidate work and personal phones, the A7 offers offers dual SIM support.

You’ll also find an larger 3300mAh battery which reviewers loved.

Buyer’s Tip: Many reviewers noted that at release the A7 is actually priced slightly higher than the comparable Samsung Galaxy S6. If you don’t mind a slightly smaller screen and don’t need dual SIM support or a microSD card, shopping around might land you a nearly identical phone for less!

Otherwise, the phone borrows from its smaller sibling. For full details on performance, camera quality and interface design, check out our review of the Samsung Galaxy A5 (2016)!

The new Samsung Galaxy A7 for 2016 is a great-looking upgrade over its predecessor, with outstanding battery life and a few other welcome tweaks, but there is no escaping the fact it is overpriced at £399. That’s even more apparent when you consider the better-specced, more fully feature...

The Galaxy A7 is a compelling alternative if you're looking for flagship-level hardware without a heavy price tag.

The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016) definitely justifies its higher price tag than the 2015 A7 model with its different design and features. Not only it has a glass and metal design, it has a bigger battery, a better processor, more RAM, and improved connectivity features. I liked the phone for its camera,...

I think this is the best phone in the 2016 Galaxy A series. It has a gorgeous design, the 5.5-inch display hits the sweet spot, and battery life is insanely good. The camera could have been better – if not quality, it could at least take pictures in 16:9 aspect ratio being a 13-megapixel senso...

The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2016)is a beautifully constructed device especially for the price. You need to see and handle one in person to really appreciate the design and quality as the photos and videos don’t really do it justice. It is a powerful smartphone too overall but at the price of Rs 35,...
