The "1-Minute" Review
The Oppo Reno4 Z is the cheapest and the chunkiest of the family of Oppo Reno4’s. Thicker, wider and taller than the other two models, the Oppo Reno4 and the Oppo Reno4 Pro, the Z is built with your wallet in mind.
The screen is flatter than the ones used on the other two models. This isn’t a big deal, however, it’s also an LCD instead of an OLED. This means it’s not as sharp or color is lacking compared to the Reno4 5G or Reno4 Pro 5G.
However, it has the highest refresh rate amongst the group at 120Hz.
The camera hub on the back is built in such a way that if not for the Oppo branding on its exterior, you might not have guessed it was related to the other two models of phone. It features a square bezel with lenses going diagonally across.
The Reno4 Z also has a different chipset from the Reno4 and Reno4 Pro, no doubt to minimize cost. It won’t top benchmarks or play the latest games at max settings, but reviewers found it capable enough.
With everything else on the phone being virtually the same, it’s an excellent phone that dodges the price concerns of its higher-end siblings.
- 6.57-inch LCD with 120Hz refresh rate
- Chunkier design than its siblings
- 8GB of RAM (the same as Reno4 5G, less than the Reno4 Pro 5G)
- Weaker processor
- Much lower price
For most buyers, the most screens will be the most noticeable difference. It’s not a bad screen, but you will notice the difference between the screen on this phone and the other two models. Still, if the screen isn’t critical to you, it gives Oppo the ability to release the phone for a ridiculously affordable price.
