The Nokia 7705 Twist definitely puts a new spin on sliders with a unique form factor that fits easily into a shirt pocket but swivels open to reveal a full QWERTY keypad.
Unlike other phones that have hit the market with a unique design at the expense of a solid feature set, the Twist comes up a winner with a 3MP camera with flash, auto focus, video recording and dedicated camera key. It also has Bluetooth, a 2.5mm headset jack and HTML browsing.
The 2.4-inch 320 x 240 pixel resolution screen is clear and shows colors well, but is certainly below many of the high res screens now available.
Additional interesting features include interchangeable faceplates and a “Contact Light Ring” on the front bottom right of the phone for event and contact notifications, and photo-editing software that will allow you to create customized slideshows (included).
When closed the Twist is a small attractive square with rounded corners.
This is a fun phone and seems designed for a young demographic that enjoys heavy texting and taking good pictures. With the surprisingly comfortable keypad and expanded camera functions and included software, the Nokia Twist will surely appeal to many.
