In the middle spot of the 2021 Motorola Edge lineup is the Edge 20. It has the makings of a great phone with a wallet-friendly price. Some things are ever so slightly better about the higher-priced Motorola Edge 20 Pro, but the baseline model is still just as worthy of recognition.
What’s the Same
- 6.7-inch OLED display
- 108+MP rear-lens, 32MP front-facing lens camera
- Android 11
- 144Hz refresh rate
What’s Different
- 8GB of RAM
- Snapdragon 778G chipset
- Aluminum frame with plastic back
- Smaller Battery
While the Pro model is fleshed out with a few extras, the standard Motorola Edge 20 provides plenty to enjoy. It has the same fast refresh rate, large display, and exciting cameras as the top-end model.
The design is made a little less impressive than the Pro’s, with fewer colour options and cheaper materials. However, if you’re putting a case on your phone anyway, does that matter?
Otherwise, it runs nearly identically to its pricer sibling. For more on what to expect, be sure to check out our Motorola Edge 20 Pro review summary.
What the Critics Are Saying...

- Sean Cameron, Expert ReviewsThe Moto Edge line is all about experimentation, whether that’s in design, software or otherwise, with each entry looking to bring something different to the table. In the Moto Edge 20, however, we have a device with no single USP, but one that’s instead exceptionally well rounded. With a versatile...

- Sean Cameron, Tech AdvisorThe Moto Edge 20 may be the middle child in the manufacturer’s 2021 smartphone line up but its the one to pay attention to. With a great screen, good battery life, a versatile camera set up and well-crafted software, it offers a lot for the price with relatively few drawbacks.

- Andrew Williams, TechRadarThe Motorola Edge 20 is one of the few large-screen, mid-range Androids that is both thin and light. However, the camera, speaker and battery capacity are weaker than the competition’s, narrowing its appeal a little too much for comfort.

- Florian Schmitt, NotebookcheckIt's a light and slim smartphone, so users who are looking for something like that should keep an eye out. In return, however, you have to sacrifice battery life, and there is no longer a 3.5 mm audio jack, either. The design features a flatter screen with clearer edges now, and it looks a bit more...

- Leigh :) Stark, PickrIt can seem like all Motorola does these days is mid-range phones because honestly that’s all we’re really seeing. There’s the G series and the Edge series, and there are quite a few of the former and a handful of the latter, which this one sits in. A little higher end than the G-series, the 2021 Mo...
