Not all phones need to pack the latest, high-end features in order be appealing. Consider the Huawei Ascend G312, a.k.a. the T-Mobile MyTouch smartphone. It’s a nifty little mid-range model with fairly average specs that uses Android 2.3 Gingerbread as the default operating system. It’s not about to dethrone the likes of the iPhone or the Samsung Galaxy S III, but then again, it doesn’t have to. In fact, it isn’t even trying.
The G312 is plenty useful as it is. Its main features include a 4-inch WVGA touchscreen display, a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Scorpion processor, 512MB of RAM, and 2GB of internal storage. It packs enough hardware to let users experience and enjoy most of what the Android platform has to offer. Plus, it makes up for some of its shortcomings with good call quality and acceptable camera performance.
All things considered, this model offers a balanced feature-set without any show-stopping drawbacks.
