Overall, this is a good sounding speaker considering the size, and much better than we were expecting.

What's bad

  • Minimal visual cues for easy to see battery life and connectivity
  • Bass a bit shallow

It isn't just smartphones getting the rugged treatment, Bluetooth speakers are jumping on the bandwagon as well. The Fugoo Style isn't the toughest model in the company's lineup, but it does have an IPX67 rating, which means it is weather resistant and can be submerged in up to 3 feet of water for up to 30 minutes. Luckily, Fugoo made it very easy for you to increase the speaker's durability without too much of an additional cost. Rather than force you to buy a completely separate speaker for style or toughness, the Fugoo speakers come with interchangeable jackets. So if you want a different look you just need to buy the jacket and swap them out. Besides being rugged, the Style is also very portable. It weighs around 450 grams, measures 6.3 x 2.4 and comes with a bike mount.

As the name suggests, the Style focuses more on aesthetics. While simple, reviewers call the mesh silver design "beautiful" and generally approve of its minimalistic approach. There are only the essential buttons: volume, power, Bluetooth connection and speakerphone. Experts were a bit disappointed with the lack of visual cues. The only light signals whether it is on or off, but in order to check on battery levels and connection status they had to rely on voice guidance.

Despite its small stature, the Fugoo Style wowed critics with its loud, vibrant sound and great clarity. As with most Bluetooth speakers, they did notice the bass was a bit shallow though Tom's Guide adds, "Fugoo…handled the low-end growl…with more detail than any portable Bluetooth speaker we've heard." Besides the low end, experts were impressed with its sound fidelity at mid and high range though they did notice occasional harshness on the high end depending on the type of music they had on. The Speakerphone feature also performed admirably providing experts with clear calls on both ends of the line.

Perhaps the most impressive aspect of the Fugoo Style is its battery life. Fugoo claims 40 hours when fully charged and real life testing back up the claim. Experts were able to play music over the span of several days without reaching for the power cord.

The durability combined with the battery life and sound quality makes the Fugoo Style an easy recommendation for reviewers. Android Central states, "…the Fugoo Style is a stellar choice. It sounds great, looks even better, and can withstand anything you throw at it." Soundguys add, "…the Fugoo Style is more than worth its asking price."
