The Acer Iconia Tab A200 is a 10-inch tablet computer that comes with the Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system pre-installed. That, along with its many good hardware features, should be enough to make it an attractive option. But Acer is kind enough to provide A200 owners with free updates to a later version of Android, which is version 4.0 a.k.a. Ice Cream Sandwich. And that makes it even better.
Part of what makes it worth a look is the fact that it houses an NVIDIA Tegra 250 dual Cortex A9 processor setup, coupled with 1GB of RAM. It may not be as powerful as NVIDIA’s own quad-core Tegra 3 System-on-a-chip, but it still manages to pack in enough of a punch to best most of its competitors.
Because of the ample processing power onboard, users should be able to make good use of the hardware features which include a 2-megapixel camera, 1280x800 pixel resolution screen, built-in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and support for accessories or peripherals via a built-in microUSB port. And for those who require more than 8GB of storage space, there’s an easy way to expand by way of microSD cards.
The included 3260mAh battery should be enough to last for at least an entire day’s worth of heavy use. That means watching movies, listening to music, Web browsing through Wi-Fi, and playing games. Of course, the more stuff you do, the faster your battery will run out. Fortunately, the built-in microUSB port handles not just data but takes care of charging duties as well, which makes things a lot easier especially for those who tend to spend most of their time away from wall outlets.

What the Critics Are Saying...
- James A., Tablet NewsOn the pro side we’ve got Android 4.0, the Acer Ring UI, that does no harm and doesn’t slow down the system, plus it looks nice, the interesting apps bundled with the tablet, good video and audio quality and grippy back surface of the tablet. On the cons side we’ve got the lack of...

- Jeffrey Van Camp, Digital TrendsThe A200 just isn't an impressive tablet in 2012 unless it is priced even more aggressively
- Eugene Kim, PC MagazineMost everything about the A200 is average. But when combined with Ice Cream Sandwich, it becomes a more compelling buy since you can't get Android 4.0 on many tablets right now. It's important to keep in mind, however, that more tablets with ICS are on the way, and the A200 won't hold this advantage...
- Ross Catanzariti, PCWorldDon't let the Acer Iconia Tab A200's budget price fool you. For less than it's $350 asking price you'll get an Android tablet that does what most other Android tablets will. The dull screen and relatively small hard drive are downsides, but considering the price tag, these are both faults we can liv...
