What the Critics Are Saying...

The Indian Express

The Samsung Galaxy A50s is not a bad phone. The camera is pleasing, the battery life is good enough, and this is an excellent AMOLED display. The performance is good enough for regular usage, but it does struggle if you are those who do a lot of heavy gaming.

Well, if you are looking for a good phone and have a budget of around d Rs 20,000, then this is easily one of the best options out there. The display is top-notch, the cameras competitive and the overall general performance definitely on the smoother side. Yes, there will be those who will point to the likes of the Poco F1, which has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 chip and starts at a lower price and also the Redmi K20 which has a Snapdragon 730 and a very eye-catching design as well as comparable cameras, but we think the Galaxy A50s holds its own against them, and we can see many people preferring a Samsung to a Xiaomi product at this price point.

That being said, I feel the upgrades are not drastic enough from the Galaxy A50.

Unfortunately, we weren't thrilled by the performance of the device, which was significantly below our expectations. The software, other than being riddled with bloatware, just seemed unoptimized for this hardware. Other things that didn't impress were the shrill single speaker at the bottom and the slow fingerprint sensor. The Galaxy A50s is a fine choice for someone wanting a Samsung smartphone specifically. However, we think there are better value choices available in this price range.

The Samsung Galaxy A50s is a well rounded smartphone. It comes with an attractive design, and has a bright and vibrant display. It has decent specs for the price which can tackle all kinds of regular usage, including gaming. The smartphone has a decent battery backup and can last more than the average smartphone under heavy usage. It has good cameras with it that capture vibrant photos, but soften them out slightly when it comes to low light selfies. And yes the retaining of the 3.5mm audio port is one of the biggest positives according to me.
