Kyocera TNT! review

2.3/10 AVG.

Informr score
The Kyocera TNT! currently has an Informr score of 2.3 out of 10. This score is based on our evaluation of 2 sources including reviews from users and the web's most trusted critics.

Calling this model the TNT bewilders me as there is nothing here that I would consider explosive.

It is however a good choice for those folks looking for a basic, reliable way to make calls.

The Virgin branded Kyocera TNT! features 3.3 hours of talk time and 120 hours of stand-by time. It features a modest external and internal display and a basic feature set: alarm, calendar, calculator, speakerphone, stopwatch, memo pad and world clock. *World Clock? If you are circumnavigating the blue marble, consider another device.

The TNT is a simple, reliable flip with a familiar numeric keypad and decent call quality.

No phone can actually be this bad.

I bought one from a local Radio Shack. The display would not stay on for more than a few seconds and the owner's manual wasn't much good in sorting the problem out. Probably because (I'm fairly certain) the wrong manual was included in the package. The ring tone sounded like a new prisoner being "shown the ropes" in the shower, so I decided to download a ringtone that didn't sound like crap. I used a computer to select and send it. The phone refused to load it and I was charged $4.00 for the $2.50 ringtone that never came. When I returned the TNT! phone the Radio Shack clerk was courteous and responsive, but VM initially refused to switch my old phone back on. I took the phone that the clerk was using to communicate with the VM 'customer service' thrall and talked super-abusive trash loud enough to gain the grudging approval of three gangsters who were waiting in line behind me. After our little chat it was decided that my old phone magically COULD be reinstated, and it (finally) was, some 48 odd hours later. Now I've got my old phone back in service, who's battery barely holds a charge overnight. But I appreciate it more. And it only cost me $4.00, a couple of hours of my time and a couple of miles in traffic. As my wife's people would say... "Such a Deal!" Less
