The HTC P4000 Mogul (also known as the Titan) is a dual band CDMA pocket PC with EVDO support. It features Windows Mobile 5 Pro including Microsoft's push email technology, microSD memory card slot, and a 2.8 million color high-resolution touch screen. The HTC P4000 is touted as the new replacement for the UTStarcom 6700 with many exciting upgrades and improvements. For instance, the keyboard is spring loaded so now when you open or close the unit it snaps tightly in place and stays quite well. The keys also have a new rubbery texture, which gives them a more comfortable feel. The keys are actually smaller than the 6700 but most will find them easier to use. The scroll wheel in the HTC P4000 is a "real" scroll wheel as it spins continually 360 degrees, and you can push it in to register an action and if there are no applications open, it can also be used as a start menu button.
Access to vital business tools including data, internet and email services are some of the benefits you can enjoy with the HTC P4000. It also features a 2-megapixel high-resolution digital camera with video capture and playback, and Bluetooth support for accessories such as wireless headsets, hands-free car kits and can even be used as a wireless modem. Users will enjoy the screen as it is a QVGA (320x240) 65,000 colours providing great displays. When watching video you will see that the picture is exceptionally sharp and clear. However, when viewing outdoors the quality suffers as the direct sunlight plays havoc with the transflective screen.
The HTC P4000 Mogul is designed for the heavy mobile data user who is constantly on the go but needs to stay connected. The enhanced access to business and personal data lets the user take their office on the road. Overall, as an upgrade to the 6700, the P4000 makes some definite improvements. If you are someone who has been considering going to a CDMA, you should take a good look at the P4000.
