A device of compromise

It’s a competent activity tracker with basic functionality outside that, not unlike a fitness band. Only in this case, it’s in the guise of a smartwatch. A good-looking smartwatch, mind you, but a quasi-one, nonetheless. If simplicity is what you’re looking for, and you don’t care for Wear...More

A well-crafted smartwatch that is excellent for battery and workouts

Design wise I’m fond of the build with it being lightweight, waterproof and its display shines thanks to its thin bezel. Software wise LiteOS works in regards to its built-in workout regimes and sleep tracking but falters in giving you more accessibility in the area of notifications and 3rd party app support. Its best feat realistically is its 2-week battery life.

A line between fitness bands and smartwatches

from Gadgetbyte

This is one great looking buffed-up fitness tracker with some smartwatch features and excellent battery life. But it still leaves some features to be desired. So, for me, it’s not a complete smartwatch, yet. Therefore, this is a line between fitness trackers and smartwatches.

More fitness tracker, less smartwatch

Despite the lack of a true operating system, you can’t discount just how good the Watch GT looks. Despite the lack of a true operating system, you can’t discount just how good the Watch GT looks. I love pretty much everything about the device from how well the body has stood up to abuse, the continued shine, down to the excellent included band. If this watch ran Wear OS, I’d recommend it immediately, even if it didn’t get two weeks of battery life as it does now. But until then, the Huawei Watch GT is simply a fancy fitness tracker disguised as a smartwatch.

SlashGear

It’s metal, has a top-notch display, does the basics

from SlashGear

It’s by no means the most powerful or feature-full smartwatch, but it’s also one of the least expensive right out the gate. At approximately $200, the Huawei Watch GT is a decent proposal of a smartwatch indeed.

Advanced sleep tracking, GPS, and long battery life in a traditional watch form factor

The hardware is fantastic, battery life is great, sleep tracking may be the best available on a wearable, and GPS has shown itself as fast and accurate. Overall, the Huawei Watch GT is a great choice for $200, but I would like to see the ability to export or share data with other services since the ecosystem is pretty closed with little help from family and friends to help motivate you to achieve your goals.

Talk Android

A smartwatch for people that hate smartwatches

from Talk Android

If we’re being totally honest about the Watch GT, it’s not a smartwatch. Huawei has crafted a fitness tracker and put it in a smartwatch’s clothing, but you’re fundamentally not getting any more functionality than a cheaper Fitbit or something. With that being said, if that’s what you’re looking for, this is a pretty compelling package.

Great battery life, but lacking on features

from Neowin

The Huawei Watch GT is for people that want great battery life and great fitness tracking, with a touch of style. Unfortunately, it misses out on some of the key smartwatch features that I've come to know and love from watchOS and Wear OS, such as music playback and navigation. An always-on display would help as well.
