Firstpost

Improved sound and design, but ux still spotty

from Firstpost

If you’ve never bought a smart speaker before and are curious as to what’s on offer, the Amazon Echo Dot is the right entry point in this segment. If you had an Echo Dot from the earlier generation, don’t bother with this. Get a powerful Bluetooth speaker instead and pair the Dot with it for better sound.

A good way of starting off with a smart speaker for your home

from NDTV

If you are on a strict budget you can opt for the new Echo Dot. It has better audio quality than the older Echo Dot as well as the Google Home Mini, and while the audio quality is acceptable for casual use, you can pair it with a better external speaker if you want.

It looks good enough, doesn’t sound terrible particularly in smaller spaces and has all the capabilities of its larger brothers. Amazon has done a good job of building out a skill ecosystem and has courted quite a few developers to build exclusively for Alexa. The Echo Dot also does a bang-up job of recognizing Indian accents. All of which is to say that you can’t go wrong with the Dot, be it for trying out your first smart speaker or for adding one to every room in your house.

Increasingly smart, better sounding audio and a stronger design than before: the Amazon Echo Dot is the easy access point for Alexa's skills and voice control, whether as a first Echo device, or an expansion in a growing system.

The Amazon Echo Dot (3rd Generation) is a surprising product. It's small, but it offers a gateway into the world of the smart home and improved audio over its previous models, as well as the Google Home Mini.

Cuter, louder, better

from India Today

If you want an affordable smart speaker, sure go ahead and get it. It's good. It is improved. And it's worth the price. The new Echo Dot comes with a new design that is pleasing. It is easy to use and can not only dub as a speaker but as your search guide as well (remember it is smart?).
