An excellent all-rounder of a video streamer, particularly at its new, low price

There’s no doubt the Roku Streaming Stick+ is a great device and, thanks to a large selection of apps and a neutral approach, one of the best of its type. Set-up is simple, it has an easy-to-use interface and is fast in use – the only remaining question is whether you really need one. With many 4K smart TVs offering a good chunk of the stuff the Streaming Stick+ does, and in some cases (such as the Amazon app), doing a better job of it, the answer will depend on whether your TV can match the Roku’s extensive range of apps.

In the Roku Streaming Stick+ we love the experience, we love the ease of use and the quality of the stream that we get from it. In a face-off with close rivals, we'd pick Roku every time.

The Streaming Stick+ only do a few things to dissuade users from sticking with what they’ve already got in those cases. What does the Streaming Stick+ bring to the table? The Streaming Stick+ is another great media streamer from Roku, finally bringing 4K to the UK. The device has a lot going for it including upgraded wireless, smooth performance, a decent remote and more content channels that your mind or free time can handle.

While the Roku Streaming Stick+ has better range than its predecessors, and the power to process 4K HDR video, a few niggling issues like slow pop-in time on the home screen and lack of Dolby support keep it from reaching its full potential.

If you’re in the market for a 4K streamer that works with both Amazon and Google’s services, though, has a remote control and a silky smooth interface, the Roku Streaming Stick+ is a highly appealing option.

The Roku Streaming Stick Plus is another step along the path making 4K HDR just work, but until Vudu or Google or Amazon get it together and offer movies in HDR10, it’s not that much of an upgrade over an older 4K Roku.
