Pocket-lint

Blinded by the lights, filthy urban bass delights

from Pocket-lint
Exuberance is the XB40's raison d'être, which is exactly what you get - unapologetic extroversion. Brash bass and big beats, serious volume, plus the lights fantastic. And all that wrapped up in a rugged-looking and colourful design... Full review

A powerful Bluetooth speaker with good battery life

from NDTV
The Sony SRS-XB40 offers powerful sound for the price, and if you look online, you can find it selling for as little as Rs. 13,340. It isn’t as compact as most portable speakers, but given the volume output, size of the drivers and battery life, it seems as through there is a specific market for it... Full review

A great portable speaker for your poolside parties

from VR-Zone
The Sony SRS-XB40 may seem affordable for its big sound, great battery life, water resistance and features. However, its light show and DJ features are quite gimmicky, it uses a proprietary charger and it does not have full waterproofing like competing models from JBL and Ultimate Ears... Full review

Music gets a visual identity

from Gadgets Now
Sony is known for offering devices that aren't easy on the pocket. But the SRS-XB40, at Rs 16,999 could be a game changer. The bluetooth speaker delivers near flawless performance and the LED lights enhance the party experience. As always, the audio is clear and bass levels are impressive... Full review

Lights and sounds kinda thing

from BGR
Sony has been doing a great job with its affordable audio range, and the SRS-XB40 lives up to expectations in that department. With good, clean sound, a bass-friendly sonic signature that oozes excitement, and light effects that add to the party mood, the Sony SRS-XB40 is a great Bluetooth speaker for your home, and a viable alternative to a full-fledged stereo system... You have to really love bass or flashy colors to love it

from TechRadar
The Sony SRS-XB40 delivers big sound in an equally big speaker. It's feature-packed and provides a light show for your music but only EDM or rap lovers will dig the bass-heavy tuning. For its price, it simply lacks the resolution and nuance of its competitors... Full review

Designed to take your party to the next level

from Unilad
When push comes to shove, the XB40 is not just another wireless portable speaker on the market, it’s something that has more to offer. You can get creative with the SongPal app and pretend you’re the world’s best DJ at parties or get louder with up to ten XB40s’ – it’s light and very portable with a long battery life too... PC Magazine

Armed with some serious bass response and a built-in LED light show

from PC Magazine
Booming bass, a flashing LED light show, and a water-resistant design—the Sony SRS-XB40 isn't light on features. Audio performance is strong for the $200 range, but it's not the absolute best we've heard for the price, so some of this speaker's cost is paying for those LEDs... Full review
Nerd Techy

Very durable, has a nice long battery life, and is fully compatible with the latest audio standards

from Nerd Techy
Sony really hit it out of the park with the XB40. We’ve been using stereo sound since the 1960s, so it’s surprising that it’s taken so long for a company to create an easy way to get a stereo speaker system. While they were at it, they made sure that you weren’t restricted to just two speakers... Full review
