TechRadar

Stylish and fun-sounding headphones that are just outside our budget

from TechRadar

The V-Moda Crossfade Wireless II are stylish and well-built headphones that don’t take themselves too seriously. They feature punchy and somewhat elevated bass but don’t sacrifice the mids or highs too much.

The Gadgeteer

Fit that middle ground for all kinds of music

from The Gadgeteer

V-Moda clearly has a winner with the Crossfade 2 Wireless headphones. They’re not cheap, but if you want a pair of headphones that fit that middle spot where they sound good with all kinds of music, are built like a tank and are wireless, then the Crossfade 2 Wireless headphones will start to look like a bargain.

G Style Magazine

It's all about the details

from G Style Magazine

Hard not to like the Crossfade Wireless 2. They have done a stellar job of keeping the same look and feel of the Crossfade while adding intricate details such as better wiring and a CliqFold to make it an overall impressive headphone. Still no Active Noise Cancellation but thanks to the bigger earcups you won’t miss it as much.

From an audio perspective, I have almost no complaints: they are punchy, accurate and fun. I don't profess to be an audiophile, but I'm a discerning listener of nearly every genre of music, and I have yet to find an album that doesn't sound fantastic. Moreover, I have a rack of headphones at my disposal, cheap and expensive, wired and wireless, and find myself constantly returning to the Crossfades. This isn't by accident; my ears know what they like.

The Crossfade 2 Wireless are a very likable set of headphones and are mostly great. They are certainly improved over the original Crossfade Wireless which were already great headphones. Yes, they are pricey, a bit heavy, and their goth-industrial styling certainly isn't going to appeal to everyone, but if you've got the cash and like their looks, you're going to really enjoy these cans. They've been over-engineered in a delightful way and make almost anyone who tries them on feel bad – the good kind of bad. Seriously, as a rather nerdy 31 year old dad of three who buys most of his clothing at Costco, I feel way cooler than I have any right to feel when I wear these headphones.

After all those years I’ve finally experienced a V-Moda Headphone. The V-Moda Crossfade 2 Wireless left me a positive impression overall with it’s great build quality, form factor, style and usage. To be honest with you, sound is not up to my liking overall. When I look at it in an objective manner though, it’s a great headphone for bass lovers and fun sound signature. Also I really liked the performance on movies and games, even tough it has a very good sound for music listening. My expectations weren’t very high when I was waiting for the sample, but the sound is quite good, considering it’s a wireless phone. Great bass and energetic sound with nice treble response, Mids left some things to desire but if you like your sound a little V-Shaped, than this is a great mobile option.

Clarity is so good

from Mac Sources

These headphones are a definite win. I know the headphones are a little on the pricer side but what you will be paying for with this is quality, not just a name. I would recommend these to anyone, especially those who appreciate music and want to listen to it loud and clear.

Android Guys

Excellent hardware, solid sound

from Android Guys

Another solid outing from V-MODA, these headphones are well built and offer up to 14 hours of playback. With plenty of customization available for those who prefer a unique experience, the standard model is military tough and travels nicely in a protective case.

The honest truth is, there are a ton of really spectacular headphones on the market, the V-MODA Crossfade 2 Wireless just happen to be one of them. These headphones are a little more bass heavy than some of the others I’ve reviewed and I think bass-lovers will really enjoy that. The price (if you don’t go nuts customizing) is also very competitive and there’s a ton of value here from the hardshell case to the premium cables included with the headphones. One more note, in the photos the headphones are folded incorrectly, the earpads should be touching when folded.

For round two V-Moda has knocked it out of the park with the Crossfade II Wireless. They're infinitely more comfortable than the originals, and while they still deliver strong bass the sound profile is better balanced, more accessible and even Hi-Res Audio certified (the lack of aptX HD is amiss, however). The industrial design may still be divisive, especially in certain colour finishes or metals, but we find the Crossfade II Wireless to be mighty impressive top-of-the-line over-ear cans. Move over Beats, if bass and top quality are on your hitlist then V-Moda is right on the money with the second-gen Crossfade.
