Fone Arena

Light, Compact design but poor battery life

from Fone Arena
Overall the Gear IconX is an innovative pair of compact earbuds with several features such as heart rate tracking, built-in storage for offline music playback and bundled wingtips and ear tips but it falls short when it comes to battery life, which is the most important part of a Bluetooth headset. Audio quality is also not up to mark and it is slightly costly compared some of the headsets like the Jaybird. It is available from Samsung stores offline as well as online and other online retailers... Full review

Good sound, comfy fit, wonky controls

Although the Gear IconX will pair with non-Samsung devices, the majority of bonus features work only with Samsung devices... Full review

Comfortable design, intuitive controls

from NDTV
The Gear IconX from Samsung is certainly a unique and attractive product and provides a glimpse into what’s to come. Cord-free wireless earbuds seem to be a natural progression for Bluetooth audio, and it’s about time we saw some big strides being made in this segment... Full review
Phone Scoop

A fine companion to Samsung's Galaxy smartphones

from Phone Scoop
Samsung came very close to making the perfect set of cord-free Bluetooth headphones, but fell just short. There's a lot to like about the Gear IconX earbuds, such as the excellent case, good build quality, comfortable fit, easy pairing, powerful app, and advanced fitness features. Sound quality is very good, and the ability to turn on ambient sound mode or take calls make the IconX ideal for multitaskers... Full review

Wireless earbuds with great sound—and lots of problems

from PCWorld
The Gear IconX are rife with problems. They’re difficult to control, and don’t always work as advertised. But, damn, they sound great and I can’t stress how much I appreciate the freedom of a wire-free design and on-board storage. It’s really easy to dump on the IconX, but the fact remains they would be my go-to earbuds for a bunch of exercise scenarios... Full review

Good bass, 4GB storage, but nagging drawbacks

For those with an active lifestyle

from The Indian Express
The Samsung Gear Icon X is a stylish fitness earbud that gives you a sneak peak into what the future could be like. It is good device, but with limited use. I don’t see many people wear this at for instance. So buy this is you lead a very active lifestyle and feel stifled by wires. And remember, this certainly does not come cheap... Full review

Impressive looking product but needs better battery life

from tech2
I absolutely love how Samsung has made this product. It looks like something from the future. A future we used to see in movies. The sounds quality is not impressive, but it is still quite good for daily usage, especially while working out. The biggest shortcoming I faced was the battery life. I listen to a lot of music, especially when I am at work. But with such poor battery backup, I kept looking at my Sony Wireless headphones, which go on for hours before needing a recharge... The Next Web

A bit too ahead of its time

from The Next Web
That’s really main issue with the Gear IconX; I can’t see many people wanting these as their primary set of headphones, let alone their sole ones. That’s a particular shame because the appeal of completely wireless headphones is that you want to wear them all the time. But as it stands, I’ll take regular Bluetooth headphones and a wrist tracker over this many caveats... Full review
