Run Around Tech

Well designed, small footprint, decent sound

from Run Around Tech

The JBL Clip+ is an incredibly well designed Bluetooth speaker that will go where you go, regardless of the environment. The sound can be muddy at louder volumes, but overall sounds nice, considering the price. You can pick up the Clip+ on Amazon for $49.95. If you’ve been looking for a speaker that outputs decent sound while maintaining a small footprint, the Clip+ is a fantastic option.

Tom's Guide

Small speaker, great sound

from Tom's Guide

At just $50, the JBL Clip delivers on almost all aspects that we look for in an ultraportable Bluetooth speaker: It's inexpensive, small and sounds great. It represents a big improvement over the built-in speakers found on mobile devices and laptops, and doesn't add much weight to your burden. While the battery life is limited, I can overlook that in return for getting better sound anywhere I go.

iLounge

Offers great value

from iLounge

JBL’s Clip and Clip+ are virtually the same speaker, but there’s really no reason to buy the original Clip now. Clip+ offers all the same winning features as Clip, and adds splash protection — it also comes in more color options. It’s a nice, affordable little speaker that’s great for an outdoor trek, and it retains our high recommendation.

Gear Diary

Small in size but still sounds quite good

from Gear Diary

If you approach this speaker expecting the kind of sound you will get from something like the JBL Flip 2 or larger you may find yourself disappointed. If, on the other hand, you approach this speaker with reasonable expectations and the understanding that this speaker is intended for those times when you might otherwise simply listen to the music playing through your smartphone speaker, you will be more than satisfied. In fact, if you approach the speaker with that level of reasoned expectation you will be blown away by the sound and convenience.

Top micro wireless speaker adds water resistance

The new Clip+ lists for $50, but we're hoping that price gets trimmed to around $40 once it gains wider distribution and spends some time on the market. Depending on the color option, that's what you can pick up the original Clip for today. (In the UK and Australia, it's around £40 or AU$50.)...

Like its predecessor, it's recommended if you're looking for a very compact speaker that can produce decent enough sound for its tiny size. It's arguably one of the best tiny wireless speakers out there -- and now it's splashproof.
