Budget in-ears that don’t disapoint

from Chip Chick
For the same price as Apple’s EarPods, you can buy yourself a pair of SOL Republic JAX in-ear headphones. Apple’s new EarPods sound great, but most will find that the JAX sound better. JAX also fit better as they actually go in-ear... Full review

Powerful audio performance with deep lows and almost no distortion at maximum volumes

from PC Magazine

SOL Republic's headphones and earphones are deliberately bass-heavy, so purists looking for flat response can probably stop reading now. However, the $39.99 SOL Republic Jax In-Ear Headphones represent a solid deal for bass lovers looking to save a little money. The Jax features an inline remote control and microphone for mobile devices, and delivers thunderous low-end with no distortion when listening at moderate-to-loud volumes. They look cheap but sound good

from Cnet

I'm encountering more and more modestly priced headphones that sound quite decent. The $40 Jax headphones sound as good as or better than some earphones that cost twice as much. They also fit comfortably for an in-ear model and have an inline remote/microphone for making cell phone calls.

Overall, I liked the Jax set, and it's probably the best headphone value Sol Republic currently offers as far as sound quality goes. I like the company's over-the-ear Master Tracks, but that model lists for $200. The only downside here is the build quality. The earphones have an inexpensive loo... Full review
