The Gadgeteer

The audio quality is as it should be in this price range

from The Gadgeteer

Thinksound has done an admirable job with the On1 headphones. The audio quality is as it should be in this price range. My only caveat is the less-then-premium feel of the plastic used in the ear cup arms. If you can also ignore the “Studio Monitor” label attributed to the On1 headphones and accept them as a warm-sounding headphone that can be used comfortably for hours, then you’re going to like the On1.

Superior sound quality that entertains for hours at a time

from Digital Trends

The On1 on-ear headphones are a huge win for Thinksound. We found them engaging, immersive, full of detail and brutally true to their source. Throw them something ugly, and they’ll show you just how ugly it really is, but throw them something beautiful, and they’ll bathe you in the glory of gorgeous sound. We could listen to these headphones all day. And we have. The On1 have a permanent position as our every-day work headphone, and it’s going to take something pretty spectacular to unseat them. And while we understand that $250 might exceed some expectations, the On1 do too, make a compelling case for the asking price with rich wood accents that will get them noticed everywhere they are worn, and superior sound quality that entertains for hours at a time.

SlashGear

Beautifully constructed, with a look that is grown up and self-assured and an audio quality to match

from SlashGear

Thinksound is a small company that aspires to produce big audio, and anyone who has owned the company's ms01, rain, or various ts01/ts02 earbuds, the On1 represents a sort of nail-biting milestone for the company: larger headphones. Fortunately for newcomers and customer faithfuls alike, the On1 lives up to the foundation the company has created with its prior offerings, and does so with consideration of its product on all fronts, from packing to quality to product design. The On1 are, first and foremost, beautifully constructed, with a look that is grown up and self-assured and an audio quality to match. If you've got a few bills to spare and are in the market for a pair of cans that will work regardless of your music tastes, the On1's are an excellent choice.

Sound Guys

The sound and build quality are easily worth the money

from Sound Guys

Selling for a list price of $299, the Thinksound On1 are not a cheap pair of headphones by a long shot, but the question is: are they worth the money? In a word: yes. While the price is a bit steep, the sound and build quality are easily worth the money, not to mention the unique look.

Subjectively speaking, these are the best on-ear headphones I’ve tried in a long time, and are in the running for my current favorite headphones period. Objectively speaking, plenty of people would be happy with a cheaper pair of headphones, and there are plenty of decent options for less money. That said, if you decide to pick these up, I sincerely doubt you’ll be disappointed.
