It is well built, reasonably portable and its output belies its size

from TrustedReviews
The Klipsch G-17 Air is a product condemned by its price tag. It is well built, reasonably portable (despite being mains powered) and its output belies its size. Unfortunately this counts for little when a £429 RRP places it against (and even above) competition of indisputably superior audio quality. When combined with other flaws like its laboured AirPlay connection, a bargain bucket remote control and near mono sound reproduction it means Klipsch must go back to the drawing board… or at the very least slash the price dramatically... The current AirPlay-enabled sound system to beat

from Engadget

To say the Klipsch G-17 Air exceeded our usual expectations of an Airplay-enabled speaker would simply be an understatement -- it's clear that the folks at the company put a great deal of work into what was merely a concept on the CES floor nearly eight month's ago. The speaker itself is built like a (glossy) rock, and the sound that comes through is as solid as the foundation. If we had to nitpick, the rig could benefit from a quicker bootup time, clearer volume indicators, an improved remote and possibly an app-enabled EQ (a lá Libratone) to raise the mids. AirPlay itself still has... Full review

A wonderful-sounding wireless speaker dock

from PC Magazine
The Bowers & Wilkins Zeppelin Air $399.99 at Crutchfield.com remains at the top of the list of AirPlay docks, in terms of audio performance, with the Klipsch Gallery G-17 close to the top with the most recent version of iOS. The streaming issues have been resolved, and it's now about as functional as a Bluetooth speaker, with excellent audio quality... Full review

Packs an impressive punch in terms of sound performance and feature set

from Cnet

It's no secret, I'm very much in love with the G-17's fantastic sound and ability to stay sharp and crystal-clear at high volumes. The fact that I was able to get it up and running in under 15 minutes adds more bonus points as well. That said, Klipsch's G-17 price tag is asking way too much. Its retail of $550 is enough for anyone of any income level to balk at.

If you're a lucky-enough soul where cost is of no importance and your only concern is whether or not a device works and sounds great, go buy the G-17. If you're among the masses and consider price to be a major factor in pur... Full review

Slim, wall-mountable design with excellent audio performance

from Digital Trends
The idea of a speaker that blends slim, wall-mountable design with excellent audio performance and the convenience of wireless audio streaming is an understandably popular one. It’s a really tough proposition, but Klipsch has nailed it with the G-17 Air. We loved the full, meaty sound and high-class detail the G-17 pulled off, especially considering its compact size. The G-17 Air is the best-sounding AirPlay speaker dock we’ve tested so far and, therefore, wins our Editor’s Choice award... Full review
