G Style Magazine

One of the best looking smart watches on the market today

from G Style Magazine

I have to say when LG initially announced this watch I didn’t care for it much but once I got a hold of it I was fairly impressed with it. It’s a great traditional design for watch lovers with its Full Circle display, leather straps and stainless steel body. Its OLED display is one of the best out on smartwatches and its battery life is pretty good compared to others. I wish the display could have been slightly bigger as it sometimes make it hard to see full messages or they shaved the Full Circle design just a tad.

Overall the LG G Watch R is one of the best looking... Full review

Sleek design integrates hardware with software

from Phandroid
The G Watch R gets so much right in terms of design and hardware that it’s hard not to call it the best Android Wear device on the market. It’s bulkiness won’t be for everybody, but aside from faltering in the software department slightly, which falls more on the side of Google, it is a well-rounded (no pun intended) smartwatch that provides an experience that melds our expectations of a traditional watch with the forward-thinking capabilities of wearable tech... Pricey but worth it

from The Telegraph
The G Watch R is the most aesthetically-pleasing smartwatch to date, and is a huge step forward for LG's wearables division. It's not perfect and the price point remains pretty high given that smartwatches have yet to win over the majority of consumers, but when it looks this good, half the battle is won. As Christmas approaches, it'll make a welcome addition to any Android fan's repertoire... Full review

Android Wear's new champion

from Pocket-lint

The LG G Watch R is the best looking Android Wear watch you can buy. That round face is attractive and finds a place between classic watches and the future of the smartwatch.

A battery life that outlasts your phone is refreshing and kept us using the G Watch R more than any before it. If navigating from your wrist or tracking training from a Google platform appeal, as well as at-a-glance notifications, then the LG G Watch R could be the smartwatch for you. Plus the integrated heart-rate monitor is great for those looking to achieve fitness goals, even though this side of things c... Full review

Sharp looks, dull performance

from Mashable
There is obvious potential in these Android Wear watches, but the $299 LG G Watch R is, ultimately, like the $249 Moto 360 before it: too big (women who saw me wearing it immediately dismissed it as “enormous”), too buggy and, worse yet, not even remotely comfortable to wear... Full review

Better than the Moto 360 but more expensive

from PC Advisor
Quite rightly, LG has decided to launch a round screen version of its first Android Wear device in the form of the G Watch R. It adds much needed style and class to the smartwatch and has an excellent round screen which doesn't have a section missing. It's a shame that it's more expensive than the Moto 360 but if you're going to spend £200, £25 isn't much extra. As long as you like the design of it over the Moto 360 which is down to personal taste... Full review

The best Android Wear device around

from Expert Reviews

If the original G Watch was a tentative first step into wearables, The G Watch R is LG’s confident second stride. It’s an eye-catching gadget with excellent build quality, battery life that competes favourably with its rivals, and most importantly, an appearance that looks more like a watch than a piece of technology.

The size and shape will put off some, and it’s the most expensive Android Wear device around, but we think it’s worth it; Google’s wearable OS might still be finding its feet, but the G Watch R is an excellent demonstration of its abili... Full review

Sleeker, But Still Limited

from Tom's Guide

LG improved on the original design with the G Watch R by going round with the watch face and adding a leather strap. It looks and feels substantial, like a hybrid timepiece and gadget. Those who love big, chunky yet stylish watches will appreciate the new design. However, LG can't update Android Wear, and that's where the G Watch R falls short. It left me wanting more. I would have liked to see more ways of interacting with card notifications, a little less reliance on voice control and a little less swiping.

The Android Wear app selection is also hit or miss. I could see myself... Full review

The best Android Wear smartwatch yet

from PC Magazine

The LG G Watch R is certainly the best-looking smartwatch I've ever seen, and I'm trying not to let that cloud my judgment. It's also the best Android Wear device yet, but I just don't think that's enough to recommend you go out and buy one. I like it more than the Moto 360, but I'd rather wear a Pebble Steel, if only to avoid charging yet another device every night. The Pebble Steel has plenty of apps, and can also serve you notifications from your smartphone (albeit not as advanced). It also lasts up to a week on one charge, which is a lot more reasonable than one day.

But real... Full review
