What Hi-Fi

Another excellent set of all-rounders from Sennheiser

from What Hi-Fi

We’ve seen all shapes and sizes from Sennheiser, but these earphones have to be among the company’s most unassuming designs.

It’s a thin black wire that splits unevenly for a round-the-neck formation.

Thanks to good timing and dynamics, these headphones are never less than engaging.

MyMac

A great value for the price

The true criteria is how do they sound. The verdict is MM70s has a crisp, clear sound, perhaps a little midrange-y. There is no artificial low end boost that you find in many current earphones. This neutrality took some getting used to as I had become conditioned to the bass heaviness of my previous earphones; listening to dance and hip hop sounded a little thin during initial tests.

These are great earphones for classical and jazz, although when listening to a recording of Beethoven piano sonatas I felt that the midrange was pushing to the higher end and leaving off some of the low end.

AndroidSPIN

A pretty good deal if in-ear headphones are your cup of tea

from AndroidSPIN

The Sennheiser MM70s is a very complete package: from the in-the-box inclusions to the audio quality, you’d be hard pressed to find a better equipped set of earphones that caters to so many different use cases. At a RRP of $149.95, they aren’t the cheapest pair of earphones around, but they are Sennheiser, and with that you get the audio quality, you get a mobile compatible headset, and you get some nice extras to make your life easier; a pretty good deal if in-ear headphones are your cup of tea.

PC Magazine

A lightweight, secure-fitting earphone pair with robust bass response and a healthy array of included accessories

from PC Magazine

For $100, the Sennheiser MM 70s brings distortion-free, round bass response to the table, and it does so without muddying the mix and obscuring vocals. It would be nice if there were a bit more high-mid presence to make things a little more crisp, but the MM 70s is a solid earphone option for the price.
