Samsung Said to Be Readying 5.8-inch and 6.3-inch Galaxy Phones

Samsung is rumored to be working on two giant smartphones that are even bigger than the Galaxy Note 2. According to Sam Mobile, the Galaxy Mega 5.8 would feature a 5.8-inch 960 x 540 display, 1.4 GHz processor and Android 4.1 or 4.2 Jelly Bean. Korean website Daum says the second phone, the Galaxy Mega 6.3, will have a 6.3-inch screen and also feature 2- and 8-megapixel front and rear cameras, plus a dual-core Exynos processor. Samsung has not confirmed the devices.

What Else You Need To Know

  • At 6.3 inches, the Galaxy Mega 6.3 would be nearly as large as the Google Nexus 7 or the iPad mini, making it basically a tablet.

There's not a pair of pants in the world that can fit a 6.3-inch phone in the pockets (come on, no one wears cargo pants anymore), which will make the Galaxy Mega 6.3 not a phablet at all, but a tablet that simply acts like a phone. - Michael Rougeau , Tech Radar
