RIM to launch BlackBerry 10 OS on January 30th, 2013

Research In Motion has finally specified a launch date for its upcoming BlackBerry 10 mobile operating system. According to the Canadian smartphone maker, it will formally launch BlackBerry 10 along with two new BlackBerry handsets on the 30th day of January 2013. It aims to hold the launch event simultaneously in multiple countries across the world. RIM, however, failed to mention when the new BlackBerry 10 smartphones will actually be released, as this information will be revealed during the launch event itself.

What Else You Need To Know

  • The last time RIM launched a new phone was in May 2012, with the BlackBerry Curve 9320.
  • RIM's BlackBerry 10 will come with several new exclusive features which are expected to be fully integrated with the new hardware that it will arrive with.

The big problem is that major ground has been lost and new players are showing up to the market such as Mozilla with its Firefox OS in early 2013.
