What you’re looking at folks isn’t the Windows Mobile 6.5-powered Samsung Armani 2 phone we reported a couple several months ago, but it is confirmed to be the latest addition to Samsung's designer labeled collection of handsets.
The SCH-W820/SPH-W8200 is a slider that boasts of a 3.1-inch WVGA 800x480 AMOLED display, 5-megapixel camera, secondary front-facing one for video calls, Bluetooth, HSDPA connectivity, T-DMB tuner, DivX compatibility, and a gold trim and sapphire glass for that opulent finish. If not for the Armani branding and gold accent, it actually looks pretty average, but its use of an AMOLED display will surely be a great selling point as well as its 5-megapixel camera.
It's exact release date and pricing is still yet to be known, but it appears that this will only be made available in Korea. We can’t say we’re surprised by this restriction considering that this isn’t the first Samsung phone to be exclusively available in the Asian country. Nonetheless, we’re still a little bit disappointed given that it has really been a while since we’ve last seen a truly classy looking Samsung Armani phone released internationally.
