RIM’s BlackBerry App World may not be as popular as Apple’s App Store nor is it grabbing much of the headlines as of late, but that doesn’t mean developers are bypassing it as a viable option to offer up their apps. As a matter of fact, EA Mobile has just doubled their BlackBerry App World games for their BlackBerry toting clientele. Bejeweled, Tetris, Tetris Mania, Risk, The Sims 3, Tiger Woods PGA Tour, Scrabble, and Need for Speed Undercover are the new games that are now available at the App World from EA Mobile. Just by looking at this list alone, you can already tell that EA Mobile is aiming to entice a wide range of gamers with a diverse set of games ranging from classic puzzles to graphic-intensive simulators. It just makes us wonder, though, how playing Sims will be like for none touchscreen BlackBerry devices that come with a relatively small display. Anyone tried it out yet? We'd surely love to hear your take on it.
Anyway, regardless of their performance across various BlackBerry phones, the addition of these new EA Mobile games is certainly mostly. Likewise, these new games will undoubtedly make the current collection of App World apps more competitive as a whole. It still may not equal what Apple has in terms of numbers, but as they say, it’s not the quantity that matters but the quality.
