As expected, the Palm Centro 690 (CDMA) is now officially available on Bell.

Though this is nowhere near the Palm Pre, it is still one of the more recent smartphones from Palm, other one being the Palm Treo Pro. The Palm Centro is one of the smallest Palm smartphones in the marketplace measuring a mere 107 x 54 x 18.5mm in size and weighing just 119 grams. Despite the reduced size, you still get a QWERTY keypad, 1.3-megapixel camera, an MP3 player and expandable memory of up to an additional 4GB in capacity. Bell is offering the Palm Centro as part of a launch promo on a 3-year contract for just $49.95. If you’re planning to get it on a 2-year or single year contract, it’s retailing for $249.95 and $349.95 respectively. Month-to-month will cost you $399.95.

You could make a case against Bell for being a bit late in joining the party. Why not opt to wait for the Palm Pre instead? However, considering that there’s no clear availability date for the Palm Pre yet in Canada, the Pam Centro and Treo Pro will have to do for now.
