The Palm OS may be in dire need of an extreme makeover, but it seems that the company isn’t lagging behind in providing up-to-date services for their existing users.

Case and point; Palm now has an app store with over 5000 applications available and 1000 of them are free. This is in partnership with PocketGear and while you may need to install this manually to your phone, it does prove, however, that Palm is doing their best to keep their current customers satisfied with services that are in sync with the current trend.

Now let’s just hope that this app store will be integrated into their new Nova OS next month when it is rumored to premiere at the annual Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.
