RIM has officially responded to the allegations made regarding the security flaw in the BlackBerry Storm’s OS which has caused some massive delays in the online order shipments. Apparently, talk of a security flaw were based more on fiction than fact.

According to RIM, there is no such thing as an OS version and the delays are a result of a OS version misprint on a considerable amount of boxes. To remedy this, they had to print new labels to cover up the error which, in turn, is causing the delayed shipments. So there you have it. There’s no security flaw in the OS, and no units were downgraded to a prior version since there’s no new version to downgrade in the first place.

Thanks RIM for clearing this up. Hopefully the Canadian release of the BlackBerry Storm won't be plagued by a similar scenario.
