Apparently, Samsung and LG are in a heated battle as far as 8-megapixel camera phones are concerned. Samsung’s got the INNOV8 and the soon-to-be-released M8800 Bresson while LG has the Renoir and this newly announced baby, the KC780.

It has just passed FCC and we may probably hear more about it soon when a network decides to offer it as part of their line-up. As for its specs, it’s a slider that features quad-band EDGE, an 8-megapixel camera with auto-focus, red eye reduction, face detection, 30fps video recording, 140MB internal memory, and Bluetooth. No mention about WiFi, but those specs alone will probably be enough to attract the low to middle segment of the market provided that it’s not slapped with a bloated price tag.
