We first caught sight of the LG Lotus in the video commentary on the BlackBerry Thunder, and now, it has been officially unveiled to the public by Sprint as part of its holiday offerings.

Upon seeing the LG Lotus for the first time, I thought it was a BlackBerry clamshell inspired by the fatty Nano of Apple due to its square-ish form factor. According to Gizmodo, who got a chance to play around with one, the square design was actually inspired by a woman’s makeup accessory. Add to the mix an optional purple outer design and the LG Lotus is definitely eying the more feminine side of the market.

Surprisingly, based on their experience, the QWERTY keypad was easy to work with despite the phone's smaller over-all size as compared to other QWERTY-equipped devices. However, I highly doubt it will come with Enterprise features or BlackBerry services as this looks like its geared towards those who just love to send messages while on the road. Aside from the QWERTY keypad, it also features an external display with controls and a 2-megapixel camera.

If this is your cup of tea, you can pick one up in stores in October for retail price of $150.
