Nokia Launches Asha 305, Asha 306 And Asha 311, Its First Full-Touch Series 40 Handsets
Nokia has launched three new touch screen devices for its Asha series, as it looks to bridge the gap between feature phones and smartphones and add new appeal to the range. The firm has unveiled the 3.5G-compatible, 1GHz powered Asha 305, the dual-SIM, 2MP camera-wielding Asha 306 [pictured below] and the Asha 311, which becomes its cheapest available Wi-Fi-compatible phone.

Netflix Passes Apple To Take Lead In Online Movie Business
Apple has been dethroned as the dominant player in the U.S. online movie business. According to a recent report from market research firm IHS iSuppli, Netflix surged past Apple’s iTunes service in 2011 to become the largest U.S. online movie service by revenue. Netflix’s market share soared to 44% in 2011, an increase from less than 1% in 2010, while Apple’s share of total revenue declined to 32.3% last year from a 60.8% in 2010, despite seeing strong revenue growth.
Mobilicity Says “The Market Is No Longer A Carrier’s Market. It Is A Consumer’s Market.”
In 2008 Mobilicity invested $243.1 million to become a player in the Canadian wireless market. They took their time to launch and even before they gained a customer they promised all sorts of change. Looking back on when they were just called “DAVE Wireless,” then rebranded to Mobilicity, they boldly stated they’ll “bring simplicity and flexibility to the wireless market; customers will be able to choose easy to understand plans and services and know exactly what they are paying for."
SCHOTT Claims Xensation Glass Is Toughest, Tells Corning To Come Get Some
Corning and its Gorilla Glass might get most of the press, but SCHOTT claims that it, not the 160-year-old New York-based manufacturer, makes the toughest sheets for smartphones. The German company launched Xensation Cover Glass, a break and scratch-resistant alumino-silicate, at SID. Originally announced last year, the material had undergo stringent testing from potential customers before being brought to market. Now Xensation is ready to make its debut in consumer products, which should start shipping in the third quarter of 2012.
