Say what you will about Apple and the iPhone, but you can’t deny they're making headway in the mobile phone industry. In fact, according to the latest figures released by IDC, they’ve actually surpassed RIM in the standings and is now the 4th most successful phone manufacturer in the world. The top three, though, still remains unchanged. Nokia is still no.1 followed by Samsung and LG respectively. Apple, however, still has a long way to go if they want to break into the top 3 given that they’ve currently got only 4.1% market share while LG, their closest rival, has got double that with 8.3%.
Nonetheless, their remarkable sales for this year deserve recognition especially since it is good enough for them to overtake RIM and land them at a solid fourth spot this quarter. For the full report, you can check it out here.
