Loyal Nokia fan boys out there looking forward to the N8 now have a local carrier to watch out for in the coming weeks.
Mobilesyrup just received this leaked internal Rogers document confirming that Nokia’s first 12-megapixel camera phone will be released by the Canadian carrier this quarter. No specific price was mentioned, but it was noted that it will cost “approximately $300-400 on its own.” Barring any other similar high-megapixel camera phones getting introduced prior to the launch of the Nokia N8, this Symbian^3-powered touchscreen phone will be the first 12-megapixel camera phone available in Canada.
The rest of the Nokia N8’s specs include a 3.5-inch AMOLED resistive touchscreen, WiFi, Bluetooth, Carl Zeiss optics, Xenon flash, 720p HD video recording, 16GB of internal memory, and a 680MHz processor running at the helm. It's not the best touchscreen phone in the market today, but it's still pretty impressive nonetheless. We'll have more on this once additional info become available.
